Rheumatology

Initial Consultation and Examination

For your initial visit with our rheumatologist, Dr. Bhaskar, you will be scheduled as a new patient. A rheumatologist is a fellowship – trained physician who has expertise in the treatment of arthritic ailments such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, lupus, gout and other connective tissue diseases. After each visit, our staff will assist you with prescriptions, laboratory testing, x-ray/radiological requests and will also make follow up appointments for you as needed.

Injections are performed into the joint to help reduce pain and inflammation. Injections include but are not limited to the knees, shoulders, wrists, ankles and elbows. Corticosteroids and lubricating agents are commonly used for injection therapy, depending on your individual needs.

Trigger Point Injection

Trigger points are painful areas of muscles that can be injected with corticosteroids and lidocaine. These injections are used to relieve pain.
